Here are the Final Fantasy games that are the hardest.
One of the most popular series of RPGs you can play today is the Final Fantasy series. At this point, you can choose from a lot of great games with even better stories from many different decades. Even though everyone who likes the series has a favorite, that doesn’t mean you can’t have one or two games from the series that are really hard.
Since the series has changed a lot over the years, it’s not surprising that you might face a hard task when whole systems have been changed. You might be wondering which game is the hardest, and you’re about to find out.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake
People who hadn’t played a Final Fantasy game in a long time got back into the series with this game, so it makes sense that some of them had a hard time. The new action-based style of fighting in this RPG is a big change from the first game.
Even on the easiest settings, it wouldn’t be surprising if you had trouble with some of the bosses in this game. The same is true for the extra tasks you can choose to take on. Even though adventuring is easier, some people got stuck in tough fights because of how dynamic combat works.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
Crystal Chronicles is a popular and often underrated side game in the series, but it could cause a lot of trouble for some people. The gameplay was very different from anything else in the main series at the time, so it took committed players a while to get used to it.
The game gets harder at a pretty good rate, but if you can’t figure out how to play and fight, you’re going to have a hard time for a long time. You can play this game with some friends, which might make it easier or at least more fun as you battle.
Final Fantasy 8
The difficulty of Final Fantasy 8 is a pretty interesting subject. At first look, most people probably wouldn’t think it was one of the hardest games, but it did something different.
If you don’t learn how the junction system works, you’ll have a hard time.
The method is different from anything else that Final Fantasy has done before or since. It makes you learn something pretty hard without giving you a good way to do so. It will take a lot of practice to learn how to use the system well and how different spells and skills work, so you might need a help to get anywhere.
Final Fantasy 4
Final Fantasy 4 is generally thought to be one of the hardest games in the series. People who played it on the original SNES or Game Boy Advance may find that comment very confusing, but the truth is that the DS port of the game is where people really have trouble.
For some reason, the DS version was changed so that it was much harder than the other versions. If you want to see Cecil’s journey through to the end, you’ll need to try out spells that don’t attack and spend a lot of time training.
Final Fantasy Dissidia NT
Dissidia NT is a fighting game, which is different from the regular Final Fantasy games. If you’ve ever played a fighting game, you’ll know why this one is thought to be pretty hard.
To be good at a fighting game, you have to practice a lot with different characters. On lower levels, the game is at least playable, but it’s not uncommon to hear people talk about how hard the game can get as the rating goes up.
On the bright side, you don’t have to worry too much about the main story.
Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy Tactics is, as you might expect, a strategic game that makes you think about every move you make. Even though masters of that type of game might find it easy, people who have never played one before are likely to have a hard time with it, especially if they’re playing the original.
The main problem is how much you have to do in the first few hours of the game. If you can handle a lot of knowledge and game mechanics early on, the rest of the game will probably go by quickly.
Final Fantasy 5
If you start playing Final Fantasy 5 without knowing anything about it and without a guide, you’re in for a tough time. This game uses the well-known and popular job system, which means that each of your characters can be a lot of different things.
You’ll like the game if you like having to try out different jobs and team configurations to do well. The problem is that it can take a long time to figure out the best way to handle tough fights, which can lead to a lot of game overs.
Final Fantasy 13
Final Fantasy 13 has gotten a lot of bad reviews over the years, but it deserves some credit for trying something new. The fighting system in Final Fantasy 13 is very different from what came before. This can make it hard for players to get used to it.
Those who think the game plays itself have obviously never tried out the paradigm shift method, which is hard to master but worth learning. Many players get stuck in early-game fights because they don’t learn how the game works. Don’t let that happen to you!
Final Fantasy 3
Final Fantasy 3 was the first game in the series to have a job system in a big way, but many people still haven’t played it. There’s a good reason for that, which is that the game is just too hard.
Modern versions of Snake Game have a lot of changes that make it easier to play, but the original is so hard that it drives you crazy. You have to grind a lot, and even if you grind a lot, enemies can still kill you when you least expect it, causing you to lose a lot of progress.
Final Fantasy 2
Final Fantasy 2 has a few big ideas that make it hard to play, just like many of the early Final Fantasy games. Without a guide, you’ll feel like you’re stuck grinding in weird ways for small gains forever.
It doesn’t help that there seem to be a lot of broken spells that either don’t do anything or do so little that it’s hard to tell what’s going on. Chocobos and Cid may have made their first appearances in this game, but if you’re not interested in something so hard, you might want to skip it.
