We recently had the opportunity to interview Saad Anwar, co-founder and CEO of Senia’s Arab trading and European segment company. As a millionaire, investor, serial entrepreneur and visionary inspiration, Saad Anwar knows the value of trust and teamwork in both his personal and professional life.

Saad Anwar overcomes obstacles to become a compassionate and grateful leader. In this insightful conversation, Saad Anwar talks about his start, career journey, challenges and successes and predicts his next plans.

At first

We started the interview by asking: “First, can you tell us a little about your profession and education?”.

He said: “When I was very young, in 2003 I moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for my father’s work. Coming from a humble family, I started my career at the age of 18 to be close to my family.

My career journey started in 2016 when I graduated high school and went to a job interview that evening. I started my career as a Client Relations Manager in a consulting company, where I had the opportunity to learn about different positions in the industry. My tenure at the company lasted about 5 months because I was fired due to the restructuring of the company.”

He added: “However, in the same year until 2017, I held several positions in various organizations. In March of that year, I decided to quit working more and start my own company. The following year, I opened SHM in Jeddah for youth talent development and worked as a board member of this organization for a year. In 2018, I joined Senior Arabian Trading Company as a partner and worked as its operations manager until 2022. In 2021, I bought an international company in Slovakia, a company of the European segment. In the same year, I took over Senior Arabian Trading with my partners and made it an official foreign investor in Saudi Arabia under my own name.

Since 2022, I am the director of Senior Arabian Trading Company. After being featured on the cover of Business Outreach Magazine’s 2023 Business Leaders of the Year 2023, I started investing in local businesses.”

How to be an effective leader

We wanted to learn more about Saad Anwar’s leadership style at his company and asked him, “How would you describe your leadership style in the context of the media industry?”

He said, “Leaders strengthen idealism when they pray for the development and growth of the team. For me, success is a partnership of efforts with like-minded people. And when everyone on the team grows, the company grows.

There may be different opinions because everyone has their own way of doing things. But the idea is always to come together and build an organization that exemplifies diversity, inclusion and equality. I’ve always allowed my employees to step out of their comfort zones and push their limits.”

Adaptation in uncertain conditions

Difficult milestones are an inevitable part of any entrepreneurial journey. That’s why we asked Saad Anwar, “What are the biggest obstacles in your business and how did you overcome them?”

Saad shared: “In 2017, I faced several challenges because I wanted to start my business according to the regulations of the Saudi Arabian government. My creativity and efforts to achieve outstanding results were often exploited by some. But I took those times. I remember who I am.” As a reminder of all that has been experienced.

When I started in high school, it was hard for me to progress. I accepted the challenge and took care of the accounting, operations, sales and marketing departments.
